Jennifer Cottingham retired from a 26+ year career with City of Dallas in December where she served as an executive. She has a new part time job working from home that involves an interesting project in Maui. She lives in the bird street neighborhood in Coppell.

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I had no time to work out in the last several years after exhausting days at work and with construction on IH-35 about a two-hour daily commute. I was so stressed out and exhausted – totally burned out. Not surprising that I gained over thirty pounds in my last year of work at City of Dallas.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I joined the Get You In Shape program because I heard positive reports through the grapevine and decided to check it out. One of my neighbors is a coach. The program’s people are encouraging, friendly, excited and want to participate and succeed. I also like the emphasis on goal setting, nutrition and proven science. It is a warm and welcoming environment where it is easy to fit in – and to get in shape!

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
In my first month, I found it’s fun to work out and I love being outside most of the time. The goal setting is very valuable and the continued encouragement makes a difference. The exercises are challenging yet achievable. The coaches are helpful and more importantly the fellow members are so supportive, kind and motivating. Everybody is nice.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
The members only website, the goal setting workshop and I made a vision board.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
Get You In Shape program is more nurturing than programs I have tried before. I especially like the outdoor setting in the park. The best and most helpful aspect is the goal setting plan!

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
In the first month, improved energy, outlook and my clothes are fitting better! I have lost 6.4 pounds and 13.25 inches! It’s the kick-start for reaching my long term weight loss and fitness goals.
If it weight loss, make sure to put how long it took you to lose the weight or the different weight loss over a period of time. “I lost 7 pounds in my first month of the Get you In Shape program and another 5 in my second month. After five months, I am down 25 pounds.”

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
I would encourage anyone looking at this program to go ahead and give it a try! To approach it with an open mind, receptive heart and an attitude of success.
