Judy Whitehead is an Office Manager for Austco Communication Systems and has lived in Coppell for the last 30 years. She joined GYIS in September of 2017.
Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I was sluggish, overweight, and my health was being affected by my bad eating and exercising (or lack of) habits.
Q: What was your reason(s) or “So That” for joining the Get You In Shape Program?
To insure that I would be healthy and alive when I am blessed with grandkids. To be able to enjoy my adult children now.
Q: What results and benefits did you initially experience with the Get You In Shape Program?
I have been on my GYIS Journey since Sept 2017. I achieved my yearlong goal of 50 lbs in 10 months and the weight is staying off. Although the weight loss has slowed down as compared to the first 5 months I am feeling and looking better than ever.
Q: What results and benefits you accomplished beyond your initial results?
I have gone from not being able to run down the block to actually completing 2 “official” 5k’s and I even placed 1st in my age group in one and 2nd in the other one. I have purged my closet twice : )
Q: Why do you choose to continue to be a part of Get You In Shape after all this time?
I have found that consistency is the key to my accomplishments. I still enjoy the trainers, the other clients, and the community involvement. I would actually miss not being able to participate in all of that.
Q: What do you feel have been some of the keys that have helped you throughout the journey?
Definitely as I stated above – the consistency and the results. Also, a contributing factor is that the trainers are actively invested in my progress.
Q: What new goals or “So That’s” have you set?
My next goal for this next year is to lose another 30 lbs “so that” I can purge my closet yet again 🙂
My main “so that” will always be so that I am around for my husband and kids in the best shape that I can be in. I don’t ever want to be where I was at a year ago ever again.
