Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? Participating in the Biggest Winner Contest has helped me refocus my health and wellness goals back to my “so that”. It has been a great opportunity to visualize achieving my goal by showing up with my group to actually take action towards my goal every day. My goal is achievable and I can make it happen!

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? I have lost an additional 3 pounds and maintained my focus during a very personally stressful time. I cannot credit this program and the members of my team enough for the support and encouragement that they provide at boot camp and through daily personal messaging. We all pull for each other’s success whether it’s a recipe idea, a tip for remembering to take your MNS or a friendly challenge to push yourself a little farther. As a result, not only am I closer to my goal, I am continuing to lose weight and inches but I am stronger and more than 20 seconds faster on my mile run (quite the accomplishment for a girl who does not like to run!).

Robin McCoy – 5.2 Pounds in 6 weeks!

Theresa Stevens – Lost 6.2 pounds in 6 weeks!
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? Biggest help: Accountability, comradery, accountability, support & accountability (have I said accountability enough ) All of that in a fun setting. Being on a team has helped my motivation to attend BC and ODC so that I don’t let the team down. Helped me make good food choices so I’m not the person who isn’t making a difference on the inches lost or weight lost. I was motivated to work harder because it was for more than just me! My team members were very encouraging and motivating. No negativity, just positive reinforcement and lots of humor. The contest also forced me to use MFP until it became a habit and I got addicted to seeing the fat/carb/protein chart!

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks?
• Lost 6.2 lbs
• Lost 12 inches
• Developed better food tracking habits with MFP
• Developed better eating habits by tracking food and listening to my team members. Didn’t feel guilty if I fell of the wagon. Just climbed back on and tried harder!
• Became consistent in doing some form of ODC in addition to BC
• Worked harder and felt more competitive because I wanted to keep up with the rest of the team. Big benefit in making me use MFP to log food EVERY DAY.
• Feel better, feel stronger, clothes are comfortable now!
• Shaved a few seconds off my mile time and have made improvements in CC workouts
Becky Loria – Lost 4.2 pounds in 6 weeks!
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? Being part of the contest helps me stay accountable for my food intake & exercise.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? The #1 benefit is being part of such a great group of trainers & members. I have made forever friends being part of this. The support & encouragement we receive is priceless. I’ve gotten faster on my timed mile, lost some weight and inches. I’ve also stayed more on track during the weekends too! I feel very blessed!

Carol Jackson – Lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks!
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? Biggest Winner Contest helped me focus on consistency. I made it a goal to attend all the boot camps and cardio clubs for the month of January. I had to go to Austin for a conference. I knew I would miss a Friday boot camp so I double up and went twice in one day to meet my goal. In the past, I have struggled with consistency in exercising so this contest helped me build consistent habits. I was also not consistently engaging in some sort of ODC. Attending cardio club two times a week fixed that consistency problem plus I have found I can run/jog.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? In September when I started with Get You IN Shape all I could do was walk fast. I can now jog an entire mile in 11 mins and 49 seconds. My first attempt at the 1-mile run was a walk that took almost 16 minutes. I’ve run hills, sprints, negative intervals, during cardio club. I truly never thought I would run again-walk fast yes but not run. I think I may try a 5K! I’ve lost almost 20 lbs since joining GYIS-8 of it was achieved during the Biggest Winner challenge. I also lost an additional 8 inches overall during the challenge. Shopping is fun again and people are noticing the change in my appearance. I also feel this program has given me the tools to sustain the lifestyle. I look forward to working out with the fellow boot campers and their encouraging words. Can’t forget the trainers! If it wasn’t for their gently encouragement, making you feel important , and helping you to see yourself as a fit person this would have been another failed attempt at a lifestyle change.

Team Hips Ahoy!– Lost 17.2 pounds

Class time – 5:30am

Jen Smith – Lost 1.8 Pounds
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? I am more confident with myself and how I look. Before last year, I would have never stepped foot out of my house in my exercise gear but now I go out without worrying about how I look (or should look). I also have been much more committed to my health after this contest. I have never been more conscious about what I am eating every day and I have been consistent with exercising every day and every week.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? I bought pants about 5 years ago that I could not fit into. My husband calls them “goal pants”. They still had the tags on them! I pulled them out the other day and they actually fit! My old pants are loose by about 3 inches. I also have been feeling more energetic and not so tired throughout the day.

JoAnn Talkington – Lost 5.4 Pounds
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? The biggest advantage to being in a group that is following myfitnesspal is that you stay motivated to log in.
Even if you don’t feel like you need it because you know what you are eating… you feel like you have to log in for the team.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? The Contest did not have an impact on me above just being in GYIS and using my advocare; I was going to do that anyway. Nevertheless, these past 6 weeks I have built up some endurance. I have learned how to run with better form. I have ran my first 15K which has lead me to explore other Advocare products in the performance line. Not really a contest thing, but it happened in that time frame.
I don’t want to say the contest doesn’t work, but it just echoes the life style change I made this past year and I don’t see much difference.

Describe how the Get You In Shape Biggest Winner Contest has helped you these past 6 weeks? The GYIS Biggest Winner Contest definitely helped me by being accountable. I did not want to let the team down and made an all-out effort to do what was expected for the contest. My pledge for 2017 is to MOVE. Although we only worked out twice as a group, group messenger was set up so we could talk daily.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Contest over the last 6 weeks? (1) Over the last six weeks, most importantly I lost weight and inches. (2) I daily tracked what I ate and tracked my exercise. (3) I ate breakfast, (4) I packed snacks for the week and took to work. I never got bored, because I would do several variety items. (5) I used several aps and participated in several FitBit Challenges (6) Just being conscious of what I’ve been putting in my mouth and having to record that has made me make better eating decisions. The overall benefit has been my energy has increased and I have some awesome team members/friends and a coach that was there for us along the way! Doing as a group/team sure makes it a lot more fun! I’ve had a crazy work schedule so sometime I couldn’t get a full 30-60 minutes in so walked in the neighborhood, used the stairs instead of elevator. Love my simply fit board, used it while brushing my teeth, and the bands are so cool. Just did things a little differently than just a normal workout in the gym, just made an attempt to MOVE!

Team Members – Candy York, Dawna Icenhour and Patricia Villalobos
Class time – 5:30/6:30pm

Candy York – Lost 5.2 Inches
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? Of the past 6 weeks, I believe I was on the road with business travel for 3 if not 4 of those weeks. Having members of the team communicating helped to keep my foot in the door and not throw everything to the wind. As I look forward to knee surgery, staying involved with boot camp kept me going even if it was only the strength training and not so much of the cardio. There were days when I had just returned to town, that I went to boot camp because of the team accountability.

What have been some of the benefits and results from the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge over the last 6 weeks? These past 6 weeks, I’ve been the poster child for “what not to do”. I attempted off day cardio (low impact cycling), finding without a day to recover, I would get no sleep due to pain and cramps…so I stopped ODC. I did go to the market when out of town to get fruit, snacks and lunches but often would go for long stretches of time without eating. I also worked graveyard shift, so my sleep schedule was all messed up, not to mention lacking. In spite of it all, I lost inches 12.25….but did post a gain of 2.4 lbs. I would not have done as well if I had not made the effort to attend boot camp when I did and focused on some of the food and timing of my meals.

Patricia Villalobos – Lost 5 Pounds
Describe how the GYIS Biggest Winner Team Challenge has helped you these past 6 weeks? To be accountable and to realize how much I eat.
