I started coaching in 1998 when I was getting my Master’s Degree so I have heard all the questions come my way.

Having help people look and fee 10 years younger with our Get You In Shape Coaching program since 2006, it comes down to a few simple things.

1. People need a plan.

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲!
The holiday season is filled with joy, celebrations, and tempting treats. But it doesn’t have to derail your health and fitness goals! Here are 5 simple tips to help you enjoy the season while feeling great:

𝟭. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 – Know your reasons WHY you want to look good and feel your best is going to help motivate you. Set some specific goals to stay motivated. Maybe you want to have more energy to play with your kids. Your goal is energy but if it’s to be able to have more energy to play with your kids that should be motivation. If it’s FEELING good in your holiday clothes. That will help give you the motivation to be proactive and follow tips 2-5.

𝟮. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 – Put 10-15 minutes on your calendar and move. Movement will boost your mood, improve digestion, and keep your stress levels low. Whether it’s a morning walk, a quick workout, or dancing at holiday parties, find activities you enjoy and commit to staying active this season.

𝟯. 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 – Drink plenty of water, especially before meals or parties. Staying hydrated helps control hunger and keeps your energy up. It also helps counteract the dehydrating effects of holiday treats like alcohol and salty foods.

𝟰. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 – Sleep is key to managing stress and maintaining energy levels. Aim for 7-8 hours to keep your body and mind in top shape. Lack of sleep can increase cravings and lower your willpower, making it harder to stick to healthy habits.

𝟱. 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 – Enjoy your favorite holiday foods but be mindful of portion sizes. Use a smaller plate to help avoid overeating, and remember to eat slowly to savor every bite. When you do eat unhealthy, choose which treats are worth it and skip the ones that aren’t. Enjoy guilt-free by balancing indulgence with healthy meals and snacks. Planning ahead helps you stay in control and avoid overindulging.

Let’s make this holiday season one where you finish the year feeling strong, healthy, and confident!
