How Seniors Over 50 Are Redefining Aging Through Fitness

Christian fitness Coach for men over 40

I started coaching in 1998 when I was getting my Master’s Degree.

I Started our business,  Get You In Shape, in 2006. We have helped thousands of clients look and feel 10 years younger.  It comes down to a few simple things.

1. People need a plan.

2. People need a coach to help hold them accountable to following that plan.

We would love to help you look and feel 10 Years Younger.

No Age Limit for Athletic Competition: How Seniors Are Redefining What It Means to Age Well

Dan King, 65, doesn’t just talk the talk—he runs the race.

Recently, Dan joined 4,000 athletes from around the world to compete in the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida. This inspiring event brings together competitors in age categories starting at 35 and going all the way up—yes, even to 104 years old! (You read that right—one of the oldest participants was a 104-year-old man from Thailand.)

So what drives someone like Dan to stay so active at 65?

Simple: “Use it or lose it.”

“If you’re not pushing yourself physically, you’re signaling your body to decay faster, to degrade faster, and I don’t want that,” Dan says. “I want this chassis to be able to support all things I love to do for as long as I can.”

For Dan, a resident of Boulder, Colorado, fitness isn’t just a hobby—it’s a personal value. Right up there with integrity, compassion, and reliability. Competing is simply the cherry on top of a lifestyle designed to support the things he loves—hiking with his wife, skiing, golfing, and living with energy and purpose.

Despite his runner’s background, Dan also focuses heavily on strength training—not to shave seconds off his race time, but to live better as he ages.

“The reason I do it is I think it allows me to live a better life as a 65-year-old,” he says. “It helps me live.”

That’s the mindset we love to see—and the kind we promote every day: fitness for life.

And if you’re thinking it’s too late to start, think again.

The National Senior Games are coming this summer, expecting over 11,000 athletes in Des Moines, Iowa. Their message?

“It’s never too late to get active.”

Many participants try sports for the very first time in their 50s, 60s, 70s—or later—and it transforms their lives.

Whether you want to chase medals or just chase your grandkids around the park, movement matters. You were made to move, and it’s never too late to begin.

We’re here to help you take that first step—or your next one.

Let’s build a lifestyle that supports the things you love, just like Dan.

Need help getting started? I’ve got the plan, the support, and the motivation to help you move pain-free and feel powerful again. Let’s work together to build a stronger you—from the back, forward.
