Fitness Boot Camp and Personal Trainer – Monday Motivation

With the Pushups For Charity Challenge coming up, I thought this week would be a great week to see last’s years event and to be motivated by all the great stories of how important the event was for them.
For more information about the 2011 event, and how you can help go to  www.PushupsForCharityCoppell.com

Pushups For Charity Challenge was conceived in 2010 as a way for the leading fitness business owners across America to inspire their respective towns and cities to get fit, have fun and make a difference by raising funds for the wounded warriors who selflessly sacrifice for our freedom, Pushups For Charity has since raised a quarter of a million dollars for charity and gotten thousands of people to embrace a healthy lifestyle. The Pushups For Charity Coppell event raised $10,742

And that is just the beginning.  This year, with your help, the Challenge will be bigger and better than ever.

There will be close to 100 fitness businesses across America putting on Pushups for Charity Challenges in their respective towns during April, with the bulk of them occurring on April 16, National Pushups for Charity Day.

Pushups For Charity is both a local and national event that should receive major media attention.

I’d like to tell you why I got involved with Pushups For Charity, and a little bit about my company, Get You In Shape, so you can feel comfortable and confident about participating in the challenge with us.

My grandfather was in WWII and I have been trying to find a way to give back to our troops in a way that I know can help. So when I found out about Push Ups For Charity, I loved the idea of being a part of something much bigger than myself or Get You In Shape and helping be a part of a huge charitable event.

In 2010, Get You In Shape decided to team up with other fitness businesses from around the country to host Pushups For Charity Events in their own towns. For me, this event really touched me and allowed me to give back to the Wounded Warriors of our country.

Get You In Shape has been a partner with the City of Coppell since 2007 and we run the Coppell Fitness Boot Camps in Andy Brown Park. We have focused on building community awareness on health and fitness. In 2010, we had 4 charity events and helped raise close to $20,000. In addition to the Pushups For Charity, we had 3 other events. The Thanksgiving Turkey Busting Workouts was a free boot camp week to Coppell Citizens in exchange for helping local CCA with food and clothes. The Boot Camp 4 Backpacks was another free week of boot camp to help raise backpacks and school supplies for the less fortunate in Coppell. We also had our first annual 5k run that helped raised $5,000 for the Coppell Special Olympic Teams. You can see pictures of all these events at – https://www.getyouinshape.com/blog/?p=8222

Get You In Shape’s main focus is to put people in a positive environment that will help create motivation, accountability and inspiration. We do this through events like the Pushups For Charity.

We invite you to help make our community better by helping us make this event a success. Go to www.PushupsForCharityCoppell.com to learn more about how you can help.
