With the the Coppell 5k coming up this Saturday to benefit the Coppell Special Olympics, we are excited to be able to announce that we will have two members from the Dallas Stars Hockey team with us there to help make this
event successful.
Landon Wilson and another mystery Dallas Star will be there to support the Coppell Special Olympics, sign autographs, and support the Coppell 5k.
The Coppell 5k run and 1 mile walk is just a great event to help raise money for the Coppell Special Olympics and to help raise health and fitness awareness within the Coppell area. Cynthia Linder of Coppell’s Get You In Shape, has been the basketball coach for the Coppell Special Olympics since 2007. In 2010, she realized the need for equipment, uniforms, practice gear, and other basic items that most school teams automatically get.
With the help of her husband, Brad Linder, and many great Coppell Special Olympic volunteers, the fist annual Coppell 5k was in May of 2010. Get You In Shape was able to write a check for $5,000 to the Coppell Special Olympics which went a long way with all the teams that the Coppell Special Olympics provides.

With the first annual Coppell 5k as huge success and so rewarding, we all decided that this would be something we do every year.
This event is all about the Coppell Special Olympic Teams and helping them have the basic needs and money needed. We appreciate you helping support this awesome event.
