Coppell, TX – Boot Camp Celebrates 3 years with Fitness Program

Helping Participants in the Metroplex Lose Over 7,500 Inches  and 3,500 Pounds Since 2007

COPPELL, TX . – October 6, 2010. This month marks the three-year anniversary for the Get You In Shape team based in Coppell, TX.   Since starting their first Coppell Fitness Boot Camp 3 years ago with 5 clients they have helped more than 3,000 participants that in total have lost over 7,500 inches and 3,500 pounds! To celebrate, founder Brad Linder and his wife Cynthia hosted a client appreciation party at their home in Coppell on October 2, inviting clients, friends and family to partake in an evening of fun and fellowship.

In October 2007, Linder partnered with the City of Coppell Parks and Recreation to bring a program to the community oriented to help people get in shape in a fun and friendly environment.  The goal was also to provide participants the encouragement, accountability, and motivation needed to succeed.  In September of 2008, Get You In Shape opened up its corporate wellness program for the city of Coppell’s employees. In the past year, Get You In Shape has opened up two more locations in Dallas, as well as starting two onsite corporate fitness programs.

“I started this program wanting to make a difference, both in the health and fitness of people and also to give back to my community.” Linder said. Within the past year, Get You In Shape has sponsored four charity events, raising over $19,000 in funds and donations for worthwhile causes.

“Pushups For Charity” benefited the Wounded Warrior Project by raising approximately $10,750 in order to provide programs and services for severely injured service members. Through food donations for “Free Turkey Busting Workouts”, a trailer packed full of much needed food staples was given to CCA, a local food bank. The Coppell 5k Run/Fun Walk in May raised $5,000 for the Coppell Special Olympics.  The Boot Camp 4 Backpacks fundraiser in August raised over $3,000 in school supplies and backpacks for underprivileged Coppell ISD students. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to host these charitable events.  Not only were we able to support each of these organizations in their important efforts, but we also were able to engage the local community in a fun way to get fit!”

Scott Woodby, from Coppell, has personally benefited from the local fitness program. “Get You In Shape was the answer I had been looking for, as I’ve lost about 20 pounds and feel much so much better. I was able to get the individual instruction I needed to get started, but in a group environment that helped me stay motivated. I liked the program so much I got my wife, Robin, to join with me. The workouts are never the same and after 6 months in the program, I still love it! This program is great for anyone!”

Linder shared the vision for his fitness model.  “My desire was to bring my community a fitness program that would make the process of becoming healthy and getting in shape an easier and enjoyable process. People need simple directions, a plan to follow, and a dynamic and pleasant way to exercise.  I wanted to provide all the necessary tools for overall wellness, group camaraderie, and professional trainers and coaches assisting throughout the process, all so that participants would achieve their fitness goals. We have put together a comprehensive program that people not only love, but that has also produced amazing success stories.”

Each month, a new Get You in Shape Coppell Boot Camp begins with Orientation and a Seminar the Sunday prior to the start of camp. Sessions are held outdoors at Andy Brown Park East or inside the Coppell Aquatics and Recreation Center. There are up to six different times to choose from, making schedule flexibility another huge benefit of the program.  For more information, visit www.getyouinshape.com.
