Callie Whitwell lives in Coppell and over sees operations for Lifetime Wellness which provides wellness and recreation services to skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities.  

Q:  Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I loved the idea of working out with a group of people outside at the park.  We moved to Coppell about a year ago and I thought it would be a great way to meet more people in the community.  I have small children and want to stay healthy and active with them.  My youngest daughter has down syndrome and I want to ensure that I am in optimal shape for helping her reach her potential in every way.  I also wanted to get serious about losing a few extra pounds I had from having my babies.Callie Whitwell Before After

Q:  What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
Since having my kiddos my personal fitness has not been as consistent as it once was.  Life just gets so busy with prioritizing family as well as working and traveling some.  I was not taking time to take care of myself optimally which ultimately has a negative impact on everything else.  I needed to do something that I would enjoy and stick with and found that at GYIS.

Q:  What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
I was impressed from the start.  The team was very responsive and personal.  I really enjoy the work-outs.  I get easily bored with routines and can honestly say I don’t think we have done the same work-out twice.  The variety of equipment and keeping up with progress through the testing keeps me motivated.  I like not having to think. That may sound strange but I, like many people, am always thinking and making decisions etc. and I like that for this one hour I can show up and just follow the instructions of the trainers. I always get a great work-out and am glad I went.

Q:  What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
Mostly the access to the clean eating recipes and the nutrition guide. I like having things laid out so I can plan ahead to make good nutrition decisions.

Q:  How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
I have never done a program outside before and love that about GYIS.  Growing up I played sports and liked being part of a team. I think GYIS fosters a sense of being a part of a group working toward a common goal.  It’s a positive and encouraging environment.  There is no intimidation and it’s a comfortable place to be.

Q:  What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I certainly sleep better and have more energy. My family notices and I am more productive in all areas of my life.  I have lost 8lbs and am stronger overall especially in my core.

Q:  What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
It’s fun!  If you want to enjoy working out, not get bored and get great results this is the place for you. Anyone can benefit, the trainers are wonderful and they meet you where you are in your health and fitness level.   They push you according to what you can handle and ensure you will see progress and feel successful.
