Q: What was the biggest challenge/problem you were facing before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
STESS-Bart has always worked out and knew I needed to workout to reduce stress.

Q: Why did you end up deciding to join the Get You In Shape program?
I met Cynthia through school. She mentioned her husband was starting this boot camp thing. My immediate thought was “Yeah right!” I didn’t think I could do it. A few months later, after a “heart attack” scare (I think the doctor was just being overly cautious) I joined. 9 years later and I am still here.

Q: Walk us through your journey. What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I can definitely tell on the days I don’t work out. Bart was right-please don’t tell him! Working out does reduce stress and getting up early does help me sleep at night! LOL.

Q: Why did you decide to give your time and become part of the Get You In Shape Team?
After I had been working out a few years, Brad asked if I could help train the rookies during the first week of boot camp. I was so excited to join the team. I loved GYIS and knew I wanted to help others with their fitness.

Q: What strengths/special gifts do you feel help you as a trainer with Get You In Shape?
Hmmm-well, I think having an education background helps. I try to help people gain confidence in themselves and hope they feel a bond to GYIS and others around them.

Q: What are some of the benefits that you have received by being a trainer on the Get You In Shape Team?
Being with the program for 9 years now, I have met so many people. Bart and the boys make fun of me for knowing someone EVERYWHERE we go. It is great to see so many familiar faces all around Coppell.
Another benefit has been all the prayers, comments, cards I received over the past couple of years with my mom’s illness. You will never know how much strength it gave me just looking through your Facebook pictures while sitting in the hospital with my mom. GYIS is more than just fitness, we are family.

Q: What would you say to anyone looking to join this program?
Welcome to the family!
