Myrtis Hooper lives in Coppell and is a CPA. Rochelle Hooper is a florist and lives in Lewisville. They are mother and daughter.

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?Myrtis: I was going to the gym, but not probably as regularly as I should.Rochelle: I was letting my job take over my life. I’m an entrepreneur, I run my own business and for 3 years I let everything about my business streamline my whole life. When I met Brad and the GYIS team, they taught me that I need to get it in first thing in the morning and get on with my day, so that is what has helped me stick here and continue on every day.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?Myrtis: I wanted to do the program with my daughter and her fiancé to get ready for their upcoming wedding.Rochelle: I joined because obviously I want to fit in my pretty white dress, but I wanted to feel sexy and fun and really enjoy my honeymoon in Italy and walk around and not get tired all the time, so we’re looking forward to that.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?Myrtis: First day, I was anxious & struggled with the workoutAfter the first week, I was proud of myself for staying committed and I was feeling better mentally 😊After just one month, I was feeling great physically and really starting to look forward to the workouts, especially Cardio Club.Rochelle: I felt extremely welcome and my favorite part is that I feel extremely educated. I feel that Lotta and Meg and every trainer here really has the information to keep me safe and to keep me going.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?Myrtis: Spark has been invaluable in helping me get up and going for the morning workouts and I love the recommended meal replacement shakes for breakfast because they are easy, fill me up and make me feel like I’m starting the day off right.Rochelle: For me it is 100% Cardio Club. When we first started M-W-F nothing else, nothing more, we can’t do any more, but then we started coming to cardio club and figured out that was our power time. That is when we got stronger and then we built upon that M-W-F so for me, Cardio Club definitely is what pushed me to that next level.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?Myrtis: The group support is fun and encourages you to stay committed.Rochelle: It’s consistency for me, that’s definitely a value here.

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?Myrtis: In just 6 weeks, I’ve lost 10 pounds and gone down a pants size. I’m sleeping better and have more energy. More importantly, I’m getting to spend quality time with my daughter and her fiancé every morning which has been great!Rochelle: Before GYIS I decided I was going to order my dress 2 sizes down, so I really felt that commitment to make that. GYIS truly helped me lose 17 pounds in a month and a half and I’ve lost inches all over my body. My dress tailor had to take it in 1.5” either side, so I could not be more excited to wear that dress this weekend. I’m feeling more active. With my job I’m very active setting up weddings on the weekends I’m feeling stronger. My body is also telling me when I’m hungry. Before I joined GYIS, I wasn’t noticing I was getting hungry and over the past month and a half, my body has definitely changed and its saying okay your hungry now, fuel yourself and then keep going.

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?Myrtis: I know it sounds cliché, but “Just do it!” Once you get started and begin to see results, you will be glad you did. 😊Rochelle: It’s a group led workout, it’s a really good environment. You can do it on any day of the week that you feel comfortable. I recommend every single day. You want me to pick you up tomorrow? I’ll be there! 😊
