Q. What was your life was like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I was taking a Pilates class before the shutdown. Since everything was closed, I wanted to keep working out, but I couldn’t find a place open.
Q. Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
At this time my cholesterol levels were higher than normal, because I was eating very poorly. I saw the ad on Facebook. I liked the idea of exercising with others my age, so I made the decision to join.
Q. What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
My first visit with Brad was very pleasant and full of information. On my first workout day, we had Billy as the trainer, and I had so much fun. Everyone was very nice. I knew right away this program was for me. Because of my work, I needed flexibility with the workout times, and Get You In Shape offers different work out times.
Q. What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
I found the MyCoach app very helpful, and being able to log in my foods on my fitness pal is wonderful. I like the accountability part.
Q. How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
It’s all about the people and the coaches. I like having the “Level 1” or Level 2” options. I have a history of knee and shoulder pain, but the coaches always have a modified version of each exercise where I can still get the benefit.
Q. What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
First, I’m off my cholesterol medicine, which is very important for me. I feel stronger, and I have more flexibility. I think the core work has been very helpful, as I now can do planks, balance work, sit-ups, and burpees for the full duration of the set time without having to stop and rest.
Q. What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
I would say, “Just try it! Do it now! You will always be welcome, and you’ll develop wonderful relationships!”
