Christian fitness Coach for men over 40

I started coaching in 1998 when I was getting my Master’s Degree.

I Started our business,  Get You In Shape, in 2006. We have helped thousands of clients look and feel 10 years younger.  It comes down to a few simple things.

1. People need a plan.

2. People need a coach to help hold them accountable to following that plan.

We would love to help you look and feel 10 Years Younger.

A Day to Start Walking to Health—And Why It’s Just the Beginning

Did you know that Wednesday, April 2, was National Walking Day? Promoted by the American Heart Association, it’s a day designed to get people moving—one step at a time.

But don’t worry if the date has passed. Because when it comes to walking, every day can be your day to start taking steps toward better health.

Here at Get You In Shape, we love celebrating anything that helps people begin their journey to feeling better, moving more, and aging well. And walking is one of the simplest, safest ways to get started.

According to the American Heart Association:

  1. Walking is the most popular form of exercise. It’s free, accessible, and easy to start at any age or fitness level.

  2. It can lower your risk of heart disease and stroke.

  3. Just 150 minutes of brisk walking per week—that’s about 21 minutes per day—can improve your mood, sleep, and cognitive function.

And that’s just scratching the surface.

Studies show that people who walk regularly—especially dog owners—tend to live longer. Walking can also help with creative thinking, stress reduction, and mental clarity. It’s an amazing tool for body and mind.

But Here’s the Catch…

As powerful as walking is, it’s not enough by itself—especially as we age.

After 50, your body needs more than just movement. You need strength. You need balance. You need to preserve muscle mass, maintain mobility, and build endurance. That’s where strength training and functional fitness come in.

If your goal is to stay independent, active, and energetic for decades to come, walking is a great foundation—but you’ll need to build on it.

That’s where we come in.

We specialize in helping adults 45+ create fitness routines that match their lives and goals. Whether you’re walking your first mile or ready to add in resistance training, we’re here to guide you with a plan that works—and support you every step of the way.

So yes, lace up those shoes and enjoy your daily walk. But when you’re ready to go further, let’s talk.

Because the steps you take today can change every tomorrow.

Need help getting started? I’ve got the plan, the support, and the motivation to help you move pain-free and feel powerful again. Let’s work together to build a stronger you—from the back, forward.
