Pushups For Charity

Coppell, TX – Coppell will host the 3rd Annual The Pushups For Charity Challenge that will put the Coppell Fire, Coppell Police against the regular average Joe’s and Jane’s in the Coppell area. This is a national event that will include over 100 fitness professionals coming together to help raise local awareness for fitness and to meet a goal of raising over $500,000 for wounded warriors.

Run by Brad Linder, owner of Get You In Shape, a fitness company here in Coppell, Pushups for Charity is a fun way to get fit and make a difference by supporting the Boot Campaign, an non-profit organization whose mission is to honor the  men and women of the U.S. Armed Services who have come back home and could use a hand. The Coppell event has raised over $28,000 for military and veterans in the first two years.

The Pushups for Charity™  Challenge takes place on Saturday May 19th at Coppell High School.

Complete information is available at www.PushupsForCharityCoppell.com  for those who want to participate on a team, donate or just come out and watch these three teams compete to see who can do the most pushups in 90 seconds.

“Our goal is two-fold,” explains Brad, owner of Get You In Shape, the local fitness business running the Pushups for Charity event here in Coppell, “we want to show our support for our veterans who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and security, and we want to engage our local community in a fun way to get fit.”

“The community is really rising to the challenge – there is a lot of interest in Pushups for Charity. I think that says a lot about our community’s interest in supporting wounded warriors, and is a reflection of how much people appreciate the importance of being healthy,” says Linder.

The Coppell will also be the host event for the national Pushups for Charity™  Challenge and the organizers for the Boot Campaign will be here.

The Boot Campaign

The Boot Campaign is a grassroots military appreciation and veteran awareness campaign started by five women from Texas, known as the Boot Girls.  The Boot Girls launched the Boot Campaign in 2009 to spread awareness of the needs of military personnel returning home from combat and express gratitude to current military.  Through the sale of military combat boots, the Boot Campaign donates proceeds to a group of partner charities that work with soldiers healing from a variety of physical and emotional combat wounds, embodying the campaign motto that, “When They Come Back, We Give Back.”  www.BootCampaign.com
