No B.S. Guide to Getting Weight Loss and Fitness Results

I wanted to give you a birds eye view of What I would do” if I was looking to get in the best shape of my life in the next year. I’ve been helping people with health and fitness since 1998. All that means is that I have tried a lot of things and done my research to figure out “What I would do.”

I tried to make this post as simple as possible. Each of the 4 tips below can certainly be expanded into more lengthy blog tips but I wanted this post to be simple and hopefully help you make the necessary changes needed to get in the best shape of your life.

Are you ready? 

1) Write it down – I would take time out to write down some specific goals down on paper and some reasons why I wanted to achieve them. You have to know what you want and WHY you want it in order to even start. Without that, your just going through the motions and will certainly go back the starting line before you know it. I would put some short term (4 weeks, 12 week, 6 months) and some long term goals (1 year and beyond)
2) Get an Accountability Buddy/Coach – It’s no secret, we all do better when we are held accountable to our actions. This can be a spouse, friend, co-worker or a group of people. The main thing is that I would not be on my own. When I feel like quitting or getting off the road, I know I have someone there to help keep me accountable. I also use like to use the “Positive Support + Accountability = Results. Without the Accountability we just fall into the same bad habits that got us to where we are today.
3) Use MyFitnessPal – I would track everything I put in my mouth using the #1 app out there. Keeping journal has been proven to help double your results so it would seem like a no-brainer to add this if I am trying to get in the best shape of my life. MyFitnessPal make it even easier along with giving some motivation and notifications. The other great thing about MyFitnessPal is that it is FREE!

4) Join a proven program – I would invest in a program that’s already been proven to work. A step by step program that I just need to do is “follow the darn instructions”. I learned a long time ago to follow people that have already paved the road for you and been successful. Why try “doing it on my own” when a proven program can help make the journey more enjoyable and easier.  I personally would like the program to be a group program because I tend to do well with like-minded people similar to me who have similar goals.

There you have it. Four things I would do if I wanted to get in the best shape of my life over the next 12 months.
Don’t over complicate things. Keep it simple.
Take care of the the most important asset you have first. YOU!
Take some time to write down some things you would like to see happen 
Im talking about feeling good about what I see when I look in the mirror 
Im talking about having more energy to play and run around with my 3 kids
Im talking about taking care of my body so that I can be more of the person God made me!

I’m talking about being the BEST VERSION of ME!
