Are you getting all that you need out of your nutrition? I wanted to give you what Dr. Sidney Stohs. Since most of us struggle with nutrition, I wanted this week to be about Nutrition. Our Boot Camp and Personal Training participants really have the fitness part covered. The Get You In Shape Personal Trainers work hard to ensure you get the best possible workout each ever every workout. The biggest struggle that we hear about often is the nutrition side of things.  So this weeks Dallas and Coppell Fitness Boot Camp Tip of the week will focus on getting enough nutrition.
Dr. Stohs – Professor, Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dean Emeritus, School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. Creighton University Medical Center. Former AdvoCare senior vice president of Research and Development.

How much do we need as far as Vitamins and Minerals? Most people see the RDA or the DV (daily value). This is the minimal amount to prevent a disease state. Most people assume that give you optimal nutrition. Unfortunately this is the minimal. Optimal nutrition may actually be 2 to 3 times that amount. So for our bodies in order to function appropriately, we certainly need more than just this minimal amount. For example, if we just look at fruits and vegetable, 90 % of the population does not even get 5 services of fruits and vegetables.

So what are the consequences of not getting enough vitamins and minerals (good nutrition)
We are tired, were fatigued, our bodies don’t work as well, our eyes don’t work as well, we age faster, were subject to more wrinkles, our lunges may not work as well, we are subject to a greater instances to a whole host of disease stats from cancer, to diabetes, to hypertension, to various infections, to lung conditions, poor eye sight. These are all the consequences associated with improper nutrition. Here is the video!

How do we make sure we are getting all the vitamins and minerals we need to live optimally?

One way is to make sure you are getting having a good Core – Multivitamin . Omege 3 Fattys acids that help give your body the basics to help fill in those gaps.
