Catherine Walhood is a Speech Language Pathologist at the Shelton School in Dallas and has lived in Coppell for 32 years.  Catherine will be celebrating her 6 year anniversary with Get You In Shape at the end of this month.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I knew Brad from church and knew he was a great guy and his program was different, a group workout, outdoors.  This was appealing to me as I spend most of my day indoors.

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?Catherine Before & After
I didn’t work out and consequently was overweight and often tired. I was looking for a change.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
I loved being outside, the trainers were very welcoming and accepted me at the fitness level I could manage….pretty slow…however my fitness level improved with regular workouts.  I have been a consistent boot camper for almost six years now!! That lets you know I really value what they offer at GYIS!  I tell people: “working out is my insurance policy for good health”.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
I have used the 24 Day Challenge several times to get on track and stay on track.  I also like the additional monthly challenges and community activities that are offered.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
The GYIS program is outdoors, different exercises every time, which keeps things interesting and is easy to follow.  The trainers are kind, helpful and offer accountability, which keeps me motivated.

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
With the GYIS Program I lost 6lbs the first month, 18lbs at eight months and 35lbs at one year. After my weight loss, I had improved energy, reduced brain fog, and a greatly improved health and fitness level.  Six years later I’m still healthy and very happy to have committed to GYIS!!

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
It’s the best fitness program I have ever been involved in!  Give it a try and stick with it!! I think you will be happy with the results!!
