Coppell Trainer Spotlight Co-Rookie of the Month – May 2016 – Bethany Gillam

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I was looking for a fitness program that would help me get my health back in check after having my third baby. I originally signed up for the Total Transformation Contest but really wanted to include an exercise component and the GYIS program fit the bill!

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I moved to Texas back in August and made the initial move without my family.  Before they joined me in October, I was living in a hotel and all of my meals were from either a restaurant or room service.  It sounds fabulous (and it was!), but it actually was not good for my health.  I was working a lot, traveling back and forth, and trying to find my family a home before they relocated down here, which left me little time to put towards exercise and I did not even think about what I was eating. Then when the family made it down, life became all about making sure the kids transitioned easily and were happy.  I did not focus on me at all.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
My first session was an eye opener!  It was 5:30 a.m. on a cold January morning and there were people all over the parking lot ready to get their work out in!  Everyone was so welcoming – the trainers all took the time to introduce themselves and talk to me and they made sure I had buddies nearby to help out with any questions and even just to make me feel welcome.   The first mile run for me was tough, but I made it and knew after I finished it that I would continue with this and improve on my time.  By month two, I was hooked and looked forward to each session to see what we would be doing next.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?Bethany Gillam Before & After
The My Fitness Pal app has become an everyday part of life.  In addition, I utilized the recommended nutritional supplement products and when that was complete I continued on with the vitamins.  I also am a fan of their meal replacement shakes for breakfast and Catalyst.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
I knew that I personally worked hard when in a group environment, but it’s amazing to me how much trainer interaction, feedback, and encouragement you get in this group dynamic!  They make a point to know everyone by name and continuously give constructive feedback on correct form.  Something about the GYIS program has really clicked for me.  I get all of the benefits of having not one, but several, experienced trainers with me during the sessions and work-outs that are constantly changing and challenging me.   It has put me into a competition against myself and I actually look forward to measurement days so I can see how far I have come!

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
After the first month, I had lost 8 lbs and 14.5 inches overall!  I was shocked (but thrilled!) at the initial results and it motivated me even more to keep going!  I just finished my third month and have lost a total of 17.6 lbs, 25.5 inches, and am two sizes smaller!   My energy levels throughout the day are much more consistent and I sleep better.  I now can run around chasing my kids and not get winded or have to stop all of the time.  And quite honestly,  I just feel better about me and the image that I project out.

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
If you are truly ready to make a change to your health and wellness, then sign up now!  The GYIS program is a game changer if you are willing to put in the time, effort, and energy.  But you have to be willing to listen and learn!  If you are looking for variety in your exercise routine, a supportive environment, and the expertise of some great trainers then look no further!
