Coppell Trainer Rookie of the Month – Oct 2018 – Heidi McHone

Heidi McHone is a lead for a training team at SiriusXM and lives in Coppell.

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
Prior to joining the Get You in Shape Program, I was tired all of the time and sometimes struggled to remain focused at work. I consumed A LOT of caffeine and carbs to make it through the day and saw the impact on my weight.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I was not happy with how I looked and felt and was tired of not having anything to wear and yet my closet was full of clothes! We had a vacation coming up and I knew we would be walking a lot and who wants to be tired on vacation. I needed to make a change!

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
My first week, I was asking myself, “What have you gotten yourself in to?” I was traveling and just completing one of the 10 minute travel workouts made me tired! The first few weeks were a bit rough with a complete change in diet and working out but I was seeing results that kept me motivated.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
MyCoach was great when I started with the 21-day challenge because it helped with accountability which I needed. MyFitnessPal is fantastic! It helps me balance my meals and ensure I am getting enough protein.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
I think the biggest difference from other programs is the support outside of the actual workout sessions and the feeling of a community. Birthdays and anniversaries are recognized and everyone is encouraging regardless of fitness level (I should know, I am pretty out of shape ).

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
During the 21-Day program, I lost 10.5 pounds and 9.8 inches. I could feel the difference in how my clothes were fitting. I started to have a little more energy at the end of the 21 days but, two months later, it is night and day. I am down 16 pounds and 16 inches……and more motivated than ever to keep going!

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
If you are looking for a program where the focus is on more than just a workout, this is it! It is all about helping everyone be the best they can be and giving back.
