Macey Conradt joined Get You In Shape in March of 2016. She lives in Coppell, TX.
Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I was tired of being tired and wanted to have more energy to do things I enjoy and serve others in my life.
Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I’ve always been a fairly healthy eater, but I have struggled with exercise. I felt like I was losing strength and muscle tone and had a low energy level. I had been working out with a trainer with a couple of other ladies, but the workouts were only about 20-30 minutes once or twice a week. I didn’t feel like I was pushing myself or really getting much benefit from what I was doing.
Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
Actually my first impression was surprise! I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much. I have never enjoyed exercise and I have never been a morning person. I was also surprised that I didn’t feel intimidated or pathetic. Everyone that knows me well is shocked that I am up and exercising when it is dark outside…and sometimes cold or very hot. Since I started in March, I have only missed when out of town or sick.
Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
I have just utilized boot camp…but I have done that 100%. I have goals to use My Fitness Pal…but still working on that. :0
Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
The difference for me is that it’s fun! I can actually say with a straight face that I enjoy exercising…and even look forward to it. This is due to the camaraderie of the group and the variety of the routines. The trainers also really notice each individual and encourage and correct form when necessary.
Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I definitely feel stronger and less tired. I’ve lost 7 pounds since I started in March. I am also really proud of myself for running a mile. I have never run a mile in my life! I’m not fast, and I have to walk a little (but just a little). My first mile was 13:30 and my last time was 10:57.
Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
Come try it! I am a true poster child for a converted former exercise hater! The environment is comfortable for all fitness levels and you will feel better about yourself physically and mentally!
