Coppell Trainer Co-Rookie of the Month – December 2016 – Kristen Scott

Kristen Scott is the Chief People Officer for PayCommerce and she lives in Coppell, TX.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I have always been able to maintain a good weight without a lot of thought or effort until about a year ago and then none of my go to strategies of eating clean or skipping meals worked. I tried going to the gym but always seemed to “run out of time” and not going; I liked personal training but again found it hard to maintain a regular schedule. I had heard about Get You in Shape over the years so when I saw the Get Started Program I decided to give it a try.kristen-scott-before-after-framed

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I never ate breakfast, rarely drank water, drank diet cokes when I was thirsty, and didn’t pay a lot of attention to the type of foods I ate which meant I didn’t eat much in the way of whole grains. Oh, and it wasn’t uncommon for me to skip several meals in a row.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
I thought it was going to be intimidating to join a “boot camp” group but this isn’t boot camp. This is a group exercise program where everyone is encouraged to work at their own best pace. Everyone was so welcoming, warm, and encouraging.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
My Fitness Pal keeps me focused and accountable for my daily routine. On days where I feel I’m too busy to worry about eating regularly with healthy snacks (which is most days), the suggested meal replacement shakes are so convenient and efficient.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
The focus isn’t just on fitness, it’s on creating new routines and healthy habits that will allow you to achieve your “so that”. And the support and caring from the trainers and other participants is like no other.

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I have lost 11 pounds in 10 weeks, I am fitting into clothes I haven’t fit into in over a year or more, and best of all, I have more energy, feel more focused and stronger. I am still a work in progress but the changes I have made and are making are here to stay.
