Coppell Trainer Co-Rookie of the Month – April 2018 – Nancy Heppes

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I was active before but overweight. I walked with a group of friends but didn’t do any weight training. I was over eating and overweight.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I asked my friend Macey about the program and she encouraged me to come. I wanted to start weight watchers and do an exercise program at the same time. I decided to come try a class and see what I thought.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program? I liked it a lot the first time I went. It was a welcoming group of people, I loved being outside, Lotta was very helpful in explaining exercises to me. I liked it too because it wasn’t intimidating for someone out of shape and overweight. All different people, different shapes and sizes. I decided to join and really looked forward to going to class even at 6:30 in the morning.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
I like the 30 day challenge a lot. I started doing it in November and I’ve done all of the months since.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
It’s just a really nice group of people. I really like being outside and I love the variety. Nothing is the same and you are constantly doing new things and pushing yourself to get better, faster and stronger. Or at least I push myself. The trainers are all so great and encouraging and do a great job.

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I’ve lost 30 pounds and 33 inches. I have also improved my mile time by over 3.5 minutes.

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
I would definitely say to join. It’s a great program; you’ll love the people, the trainers, the exercises and being outside. You’ll see results if you go to class and follow what you’re supposed to do. Everyone works at their own level so it’s not intimidating at all. I’ve really enjoyed it and look forward to going at 5:30am or 6:30am all week.
