Coppell Trainer 10 Lessons Learned in 10 Years Part 5

October of 2017 will mark Get You In Shape’s 10th Year Anniversary of starting the Get You In Shape fitness program in Coppell.Although Get You In Shape was “born” in 2006  (see previous blog post here), we are celebrating 10 Years of the Coppell Fitness program.I often get asked each year when we celebrate..“What are lessons learned from 10 years of being in business?”I enjoy reading answers like this myself so I thought this may beneift others. So I have added ​10 Lessons I’ve  learned In 10 Years ​to hopefully will give you insight, nuggets and​ wisdom.Today is Lesson #5. Lesson #5 Just “Follow the DARN Instructions​”This seems to be very simple but I have learned over time that many people are just not willing to do so. The ones that are willing to trust the process and our proven program tend to be the most successful and LOVE THE JOURNEY. It’s always strange to that we have a nutrition system that has been proven time and time again and they choose to do their own things. ​I think most people get carried away with all the “stuff” out there and fail to realize that getting in shape is pretty simple. ​​Some new diets running around each and every day. Always remember how God created us and the basic things we need to live a healthy lifestyle. For us, we say “Just Follow The Darn Instructions!”​Here are just a few “Follow The Darn Instructions” Basics

  • checkStay hydrated by using the rule of drinking half your body weight in ounces of water​.
  • checkCalories DO matter. Take in too many and you will get fat, take in too few and you will lose muscle.
  • checkYour body needs a certain amount of Protein, Carbohydrates and Fat to fuel your body. ​
  • checkFiber…women shoot for 25 grams a day and men shoot for around 35
  • checkTake a high quality multi-vitamin and fish oil every day as an insurance policy
  • checkExercise 30-60 minutes 3-5 times per week focusing on getting stronger safely. Do something to get your heart rate up
  • check​Have a support group or coach keep you accountability and motivated throughout the journey.

From a business stand point, people are coming to us for one main reason…RESULTS. As a serviced-based business we understand that and also understand that we get PAID FOR RESULTS. We done all the work, researched what the studies show, tried/tested things out, we’ve put the proven nutrition step-by-step nutrition system today, we’ve put all the tools together and have created the environment that would help a client reach their goals (and achieve RESULTS) All someone needs to do is “Follow The DARN Instructions”. I am Texan so I know you can add another D word in there. The Get You In Shape program is “Personal Training in a Group Environment “. This means we have step by step instructions for our clients to follow AND have provided all the help and accountability coaching that one would need throughout the process to reach their goals. They get the accountability they need to get started along with all the tools so just “Follow the Darn Instructions.”Anyone looking to lose weight, have more energy and get healthy just needs to “Follow The DARN Instructions” to reach their health and fitness goals. It’s been shown time and time again that if you do the work, the results come. There is a reason we have over 500 YouTube Success Stories on people who chose to trust the process and “Follow The Darn Instructions” I can see how some people may want to choose the short cut to getting in shape and reaching their desired lifestyle goals. In the end, being consistent over time in the basic areas (as mentioned above) has been proven time and time again to create lasting results. As mentioned in a previous blog, I invested in business coaches and a consultant group to help me learn how to run a successful business. The coach was already successful with helping other fitness business run a fitness business so I trusted them. I just “Followed The Darn Instructions” which was education in the areas of client management, finances, marketing, website, staff and man other areas of business that I needed to improve on in order to have my business look, feel and perform better. Get it??? Just like someone coming to Get You In Shape, a proven company with a track record of helping people get results through the proven systems, I also “bought in” and “Followed The Darn Instructions” to help my business succeed.
