Linda Whitener is a Tax Software Technical Trainer for Thomson Reuters in Carrollton. She just moved to Coppell in March, just 5 minutes from Andy Brown East.

Q: What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Program?
I have long been a yoyo dieter and used to walk and work out more regularly, but life has been crazy, and eating right and exercising went to the wayside lately.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I need to get back in shape and eat much better, so I knew I needed to make the commitment and stick to it! It was close by, and easy to get involved.

Q: What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape program?
Everyone was very nice, encouraging, helpful and non-judgmental, and I made some friends right away, and love the positive encouraging environment.

Q: What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
Using My Fit Pal and really helps me keep good track of what I eat, and exercise, etc., so I love that. Recommendations from Brad and the group, or eating plan, recipes, exercises, and many things have been very helpful.

Q: How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before?
Positive group environment, and everyone is very nice. Trainers are all very knowledgeable, encouraging, especially in the beginning, when I needed it most. We are all in this together, and I can see why many in the group have been doing this for years, because it is a lifestyle, not a temporary fix that will end in a couple months.

Q: What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Program?
I have lost 10 lbs. so far, 6 the first month and 4 the second, slow and steady… and about 9 inches overall. I am stronger, and more able to do all the exercises, which was quite a struggle initially. I am sleeping better, and have more energy, and getting in 8 – 10k steps per day which is way more than I was doing in the beginning. I have a way to go, but certainly going in the right direction!

Q: What would you say to anyone looking at this program?
I highly recommend this program, as I did to a friend, who has joined as well. I needed the accountability, which is certainly there for me and others. Great program, making it fun and easier than I thought it would be. Just Do It!!!
