Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?
I wanted to lose weight and tone up. I wanted more energy for my kids and feel better about myself. Also wanted to eat healthier. I tried out Get You In Shape in January 2009 and had good success and wish I had kept with the program. I have tried working out on my own but got bored. I tried classes at the rec center but they did not include the nutrition portion. I had been talking with a friend at work and she reminded me of the time and results that I had when I did Get You In Shape back in 2009. Also, beginning in May 2014, I started to walk the park and then started the couch to 5k training. About 2 or 3 weeks into the training, I started to notice my knees were killing me. I researched what it could be and found that I might have runner’s knee. I got the bands and they stopped hurting. I read more about runner’s knee and found that it was the muscles around the knee that are weak. So in the end, I need strength training and a support group. That is why I returned. I had the results, enjoyed the workouts and the community.
What was your life like before joining the Get You In Shape Coppell Fitness Camp Program?
For years, I had not been doing much. I would try and follow the Weight Watchers program but get bored or let stress eating take over. Never added the exercise, much.
What was your first impression from the Get You In Shape Coppell Fitness program?
I was glad to see that there were all fitness levels in the classes. The trainers had modified the exercises for all fitness levels as well.
First week, I liked that they were able to take the beginners and show them all the exercises. I know that is not too common but was nice. I did not feel too overwhelmed.
First month, I was feeling better. I had lost around 8 pounds and 17 ½ inches. Also, I was doing the cardio club and it helped with my endurance.
Second month, I lost another 7 pounds (and I had gone on vacation) and another 5 inches. I was able to improve my mile time and 5k time as well.
What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefited you?
MyFitnessPal app. I changed from Weight Watchers to just MyFitnessPal. Advocare products. I did the cleanse in May before starting the Get You In Shape Coppell boot camp and have continued with guidance from Cynthia and Brad.
When I was on vacation, I was able to print off the ABCs of Boot Camp and some of workout plans.
How is the Get You In Shape program different from other programs you have tried before? What makes Get you In Shape different or unique?
The community of people. Everyone is nice and welcoming. The program is not just exercise. There is nutrition as well. The weekly and monthly newsletters that are sent out have good tips to incorporate into everyday life. Each exercise, the trainers show all the different modification to do for your fitness level.
What results and benefits have you experienced in the Get You In Shape Coppell Boot Camp Program?
I lost around 8 pounds and 17 ½ inches the first month and another 7 pounds and 5 inches the next month. Also, I improved my mile time from the first month to the next by over a minute and my 5k time was 5 minute improvement; all due to adding cardio club in addition to boot camp.
What would you say to anyone looking at the Get You In Shape Coppell Fitness Program?
If you are looking for a workout with variety, this is the place. Each day is a new workout that works the muscles differently. The trainers are knowledgeable and encouraging.
