Most of us are well aware of the importance of being hydrated, but sometimes drinking plain water just feels so boring.

How do you make sure you drink enough water every day? Here are 17 creative, delicious, and (most important!) hydrating tips for sneaking in more sips.

Drink water first

  • When you think you’re hungry, sometimes you’re really just thirsty.
  • Have water at all of your meals, during your workouts, and with you whenever you’re in the car, watching TV, etc. If I have it on you, you’ll drink it!
  • Stop drinking all other drinks! The addiction goes away!
  • Do not allow yourself to have a treat/special drink unless you drink a gallon of water a day.

Add a little flavor

  • Fill a bottle with water and lemon.
  • Put lemon and cucumber slices in ice water, it gives it a really clean refreshing flavor‪.
  • Add a couple of drops of orange blossom or rose water to each glass.
  • Add frozen fruit to your water to make it tasty—then eat the fruit later.

Make it cold and use a straw

  • You can drink plenty without thinking, as long as it’s really cold.
  • Drink through straws. I swear you’ll drink more that way!

Find a container you love

  • Buy yourself a fancy water tumbler for your office. There are several on the market now that track how much you have had to drink.

Remember to refill

  • Challenge yourself to empty your water tumbler by each break, lunch, and when you leave for the day
  • Every time you fill your glass, enter it in MyFitnessPal to keep track!
  • Challenge yourself to have a minimum of one glass of water an hour while at work. That’s 8 glasses a day!

Get reminded

  • Get an app that keeps buzzing at you until you drink.
  • If you have a reusable cup with a straw, put 4 rubber bands on the outside. For every glass you drink, remove a band. The leftover ones will remind you how many left you have to drink.
  • Buy a 64-ounce jug and fill it with water every day. Put markers on the outside with times and challenge yourself to drink that much water by the time indicated. You can have as many times as want marked on the jug – suggested times: 10:00am, noon, 2:00pm, and 5:00pm.
